Prospective Parents Open Mornings
We have arranged a series of open mornings for prospective parents to visit the school in the 2024 - 2025 Autumn and Spring Term.

Our open mornings run from 9.30am until 10.30am. They include a tour of the school by our House Captains followed by a presentation and Q&A's with our headteacher.

Rosendale Nursery
Places in the school Nursery are allocated to children who have siblings in the school, then to those who who have social and special needs if we can cater for their needs, and then those who live nearest to the school. The application form for the September 2024 intake is now open for those who have children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021. The closing date for applications is 1 April 2024.

Starting Reception
Children enter the main school in September in the school year in which they are five. Applications for a reception school place are made directly to the Local Authority in which you live.
You can apply online or complete a Common Application Form (CAF). Completed forms must be returned to your local authority by 15 January.
If there are more applicants than places available, then the admissions oversubscription criteria is used to allocate the places. Priority is given as follows:
1. Looked after children
2. Children having a brother or sister already attending the school at the time of admission
3. Where there are exceptional medical or social circumstances
4. Children of staff at the school
5. Nearness to the school – the distance being a straight line measurement
ADMISSIONS FOR 2025 ENTRY
(for children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021)
Applications are now open for September 2025 entry. Any family wishing to apply for a Reception place at Rosendale Primary School must complete the Common Application Form (CAF) from your Local Authority. The deadline to submit this form is 15 January 2025.
If you are applying for an out-of-year group place, you must notify the school in writing by email to admissions@rosendale.cc. Please see the Admissions Policy below for more information.

KEY DATES
Please note the following key dates in the application process for Reception 2025 entry:
September 2024: Prospectus and admissions information available from the school and the website and applications open
Wednesday 15 January 2025: Deadline for submission of the Common Application Form (CAF) to your home Local Authority
February 2025: Governors’ Admissions Committee review applications received under the Medical/Social Reasons criterion
Wednesday 16 April 2025: National Offer Day. Local Authorities will notify families of the offer of a school place.

In-Year Admissions
APPLICATIONS FOR CURRENT RECEPTION - YEAR 6
Applications are now open for In-Year places for current Reception to Year 6 for the 2024-25 academic year.
You need to apply directly to the school for an In-Year place. You need to complete an In-Year Admission Form for each child and return it to our Admissions Officer at, Rosendale Primary School, Rosendale Road, SE21 8LR.

Applications made in the 2023-24 academic year do not carry forward into the 2024-25 academic year. If you have applied previously and have not yet been offered a place, you will need to submit a new In-Year application form. APPEALS
Appeals for In-Year applications should be lodged within 25 school days of the date of notification that the application was unsuccessful and will be heard within 30 school days of being lodged. Appeals lodged after the appropriate deadline will be heard as soon as is reasonably practicable.
You will receive notification of the date and time of your appeal hearing at least 10 school days before your appeal hearing. Any additional evidence you wish the panel to consider must be submitted at least 5 school days before your appeal hearing. The clerk will send the appeal papers to you and the panel at least 5 school days before your appeal hearing. You will receive written notification of the outcome of your appeal within 5 school days of your appeal hearing, wherever possible.
