The School Day
School Opening Times
The school gates are opened at 8.50am and locked again at 09.05am.
At the end of the school day the gates are opened at 3.25pm and are locked at 3.45pm.
Nursery
The nursery is open from 9.00am each day. The morning session finishes at 12 noon. Children finishing at noon are brought over to the school reception area for picking up. The afternoon session begins at 12.30pm and ends at 3.30pm.
Reception and Key Stage 1
The school gates will open at 8.50am, children will be expected to wait with their parent / carer in the playground. Reception and KS1 wait outside the outer classroom door. At 9am the school bell will ring and the class teacher will lead the children into class. The register is taken at 9.05am. If your child comes in after this time they will be marked in as being late.
A fruit snack is provided at playtime for all children in Reception and Key Stage 1.
Reception and KS1 Classes have a morning and afternoon playtime.
Reception children have their lunchbreak between 11.30am and 12.30pm. KS1 have their lunchbreak between 12pm and 1pm.
The school day ends at 3.30pm. It is important to collect your child promptly. Please let the teacher or office know if someone else is to collect your child. Any children who have not been collected by 3.40pm are accompanied to the late room by the school office.
Key Stage 2
The school gates will open at 8.50am, KS2 children will line up with their teacher in the Turney playground. At 9am the school bell will ring and the class teacher will lead the children into class. The register is taken at 9.05am.
KS2 have a fifteen minute playtime in the morning.
Everyday Years 3 and 4 have a PE lesson from 11.30am – 12pm, followed by lunch between 12pm and 12.30pm. Years 5 and 6 have PE from 12.30 – 1pm, followed by lunch between 1pm – 1.30pm.
The school day ends at 3.30pm. If you would like your child to walk home on their own please make sure that you have completed a permission slip available from the school office or your class teacher.
