Childcare Provision

We provide high quality childcare for children aged 6 months up to 4 years 11 months in our Children's Centre; and for children aged 3 years 11 months to 4 years 11 months in our primary school nursery. Our Admissions Policy tells you more about the type of childcare we offer and how we allocate places.

The Childcare We Offer

The Children's Centre

We provide childcare five days a week from 8.00am until 5.50pm for 48 weeks of the year. Our childcare provision is registered with Ofsted and we can care for up to 57 children at any one time, aged between 6 months and 4 years 11 months. The Children’s Centre closes for two weeks in the summer and two weeks for Christmas, 3 staff training days per year and for all other Bank holidays.

We provide full time and part time places for families. Full time is for 5 full days, and part time is for 2 or 3 full days a week.  The Children's Centre consists of three rooms: Baby Room (Explorers Age: 6 months - 2 years old); Toddler Room (Investigators Age: 2-3’s year old) and Preschool (Discoverers Age 3 - 4 years 11 months old).

In each room Breakfast is at 8:00am - 8:30am , Snack (fruit)  10am,  Lunch 11:20 am - 12:00 noon and Tea 3:00pm - 3:30pm.

We have arranged a series of open mornings during the 2024 Spring and Summer Term, to book a place please complete the booking form below. Please note that places are limited.

Nursery Class - (Primary School)

We also have a nursery class that is part of the main school for children aged 3 years 11 months. The nursery is open for 38 weeks per year school term time only from 9.30am until 3.30pm.  Our nursery families have access to our extended childcare (breakfast club 7.45am until 9.30am and after school club 3.30pm until 6pm). How to Apply

The Children's Centre

To apply for a place in our Children's Centre, please complete an application form and return it by email to earlyyears@rosendale.cc, or by post to Childcare Manager, Rosendale Primary School & Children’s Centre, Rosendale Road, SE21 8LR. We will email you to confirm receipt of your application.

Please note:

To apply for a Free Early Learning place for a 2 year old you must have been approved for funding by Lambeth and issued with an Eligibility Reference Number.

To apply for an Extended Free Early Learning place for a 3 or 4 year old you must have been approved for funding by HMRC and issued with a Department of Education Reference Number (DERN code).

Applications without the necessary reference numbers will be considered incomplete and will not be added to the waiting list.  For more information on Free Early Learning please visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.

Nursery Class - (Primary School)

Places in the Nursery class are allocated to children who have siblings in the school and then to those who live nearest to the school or who have social and special needs. 

The application form for September 2024 intake is open. The closing date to apply for a place is Monday 1 April 2024. Please only apply for a nursery place if your child was born between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021. Your child must be 3 years old on 1st September 2024. What Happens Next

The Children's Centre

The children’s centre will send you an email to confirm receipt of your application and the date it has been placed on the waiting list. If you do not receive this email within a week of submitting your application, we may have not received your application, so please contact us on 0208 761 7411.

Application reviews are completed regularly and by email. It is your responsibility to keep your email address up to date. Failure to do this may result in your removal from the waiting list.

The children’s centre will contact you when a childcare place becomes available that suits your requirements.

Nursery Class - (Primary School)

If you have applied for a place in the school's nurser class, we will contact you after the closing date of 1 April. Families who already have a child in the school will be contacted first to confirm their preferred hours. Any unallocated places will be offered from May onwards.
