Happy New School Year from Rosendale Theatre Club!

2015/16 was a great year for Theatre Club. Families and children from our school took almost 1000 seats at London Theatres.

Rosendale Theatre Club

The Club was set up in May 2013 by parents of children at the school, with two aims:

  • to enable and encourage children of all  backgrounds to experience live theatre
  • to give children a chance to participate in drama (culminating in a live performance where possible).

To date, with the backing and help of the school, we have:

  • Enabled over 1000 parents and children to attend children’s theatre and family shows at discounted rates at the weekend with their friends. There are now at least 4 fun weekend trips per term.
  • Founded the school KS2 drama club with teachers for children in years 4,5 & 6.  In its initial term the drama club participated in the Shakespeare School Festival, the biggest drama festival in the UK, performing A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Secombe Theatre in Sutton and at a theatre locally.

We continue to work with the school to take advantage of local drama opportunities and to facilitate more affordable class trips to the theatre in the future. If you would like to help out with theatre club as a volunteer please contact rosendaletheatreclub@gmail.com
