Creating imaginative pieces

Here at Rosendale we believe the creative arts expose children to ways of expressing ideas and emotions that they cannot express in language alone.
We are fortunate to have a resident art teacher who works with children to create imaginative pieces of work which can be seen displayed around the school. We also run two after school Art Clubs one each for KS1 and KS2 children.  We give the children the opportunity to use as wide a variety of materials and resources as possible including textiles, clay, chalk, ink, oil pastels, watercolour, poster paints, collage, charcoal, printmaking, mixed media and photography.

We run after school drama clubs for KS1 and KS2 children. The club provides children with the opportunity to develop a range of skills such as; building their self-confidence; improving their physical and verbal expression; and developing directing abilities and team work with children across age groups.

At KS2 children are exposed to the works of a number of playwrights and also have the opportunity to add their own creativity to performances through improvisations and sketches.  We also offer a street dance club.  Sign up to our creative arts blog to find out more about our performances and exhibitions.
